About This Program
Yad B'Yad ('Hand in Hand') is Yachad's signature Israel trip, bringing high school students together with Yachad members — teens and young adults with special needs — for a transformative touring adventure across Israel. Run under the Orthodox Union's Yachad division, the program starts with an orientation in Upstate NY and a Shabbaton in New Jersey where participants meet and bond before departure. In Israel the group travels to Jerusalem, an Israeli army base, the Kineret, the Dead Sea, and Masada — riding camels, hiking, doing community service, and observing Shabbat together. Participants report that the experience reshapes their understanding of inclusion, friendship, and what it means to be part of the Jewish people. Tuition includes round-trip airfare from New York, hotels, all meals, and activities. RootOne vouchers ($3,000) are available for eligible teens.
