Jewish Summer Camps in Connecticut

Connecticut and New England offer Jewish families a quieter, scenic alternative to the Catskills — with Camp Chomeish anchoring the region.

Connecticut sits at the crossroads of the New England and New York metro Jewish worlds, drawing families from Hartford, New Haven, Stamford, and the greater Connecticut area, as well as from Long Island, Westchester, and the New York boroughs. The state's gentle hills and lake country provide a beautiful backdrop for summer camp life.

Camp Chomeish of New England is the flagship Jewish overnight camp in Connecticut. Located on a 20-acre campus in Moodus, CT — just 2.5 hours from New York City — Camp Chomeish is a Lubavitch-affiliated girls' overnight camp named in honor of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson. It is the only Jewish girls' camp in North America to carry her name. The campus features an Olympic pool, a private 2-acre boating pond, and air-conditioned lodge-style cabins.

Camp Chomeish's warm chassidishe atmosphere, creative Jewish programming, and exciting off-campus trips (Six Flags, Hershey/Dorney Park) make it a distinctive choice for Orthodox families who want New England scenery with a full Jewish summer experience. Sessions run from late June through late August 2026.
